YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University is marking the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, with a raffle for a commemorative football helmet.
The patriotic YSU helmet features a U.S. flag Y-decal on both sides, depictions of the Twin Towers on the front and back and the date “9/11/01.”
Only 250 raffle tickets will be sold at $25 each.
The winner also will have the option of having the helmet signed by three figures associated with YSU football: Doug Phillips, YSU football coach; Lt. Gov. Tim Tressel, former YSU president and football coach; and Beau Brungard, YSU quarterback and 2025 Walter Payton Award winner.
Proceeds from the raffle will be shared between the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley and the university.
