YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University President Bill Johnson notified the campus community this week that the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System records for YSU international students have been restored.

Earlier this month, the university announced that it was working with the 14 students and alumni whose visas were revoked by the federal government.

“I want to extend my gratitude to our International Programs Office for their extraordinary work during this challenging period,” Johnson wrote. “The IPO team provided unwavering support to our international students, helping them navigate this complex situation while ensuring they had access to necessary resources and information throughout the process.”

His message said international students contribute to the Penguin community and the university is committed to providing them with the support they need to thrive at YSU.

“Thank you to everyone across campus who assisted during this period,” Johnson’s message said. “Your collective efforts exemplify the Penguin spirit of community and care that makes YSU so special.”
