YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Four Youngstown State University students finished fourth in the 2025 Global Scaling Challenge, earning a $3,000 cash prize.
The Global Scaling Challenge is a competition between university teams from eight countries and is run and organized by The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. The global competition features three regional tracks: Americas, Europe & Africa and Asia & Oceania. Forty-three teams attended the competition, and finalists from all three regions competed in the final round April 4.
The competition requires teams to comprehend and solve the complex scaling needs of entrepreneurial small firms and design strategies for their short- and long-term growth.
In the finals, YSU students Aleen Kanan, Vince Koludrovich, Batool Alkarain and Lindsay Collins, with their faculty advisor Omer Genc, developed a scaling proposal for Hoonify Technologiues and presented their plan to a panel of judges and company executives.
More than $35,000 in prizes, awards and internships were distributed as part of the competition.
