YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University will honor two retired administrators Thursday during the university trustees’ regular meeting.
Betty Jo Licata, former dean of the Williamson College of Business Administration, and Ronald Shaklee, professor emeritus of geography and former director of the University of Scholars and Honors program, will receive YSU’s 2026 Heritage Award, the university’s highest honor for retired faculty or staff.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and will be in the first floor meeting room of Tod Hall.
The Heritage Award, established in 1981, is given to former faculty and staff members who have made major contributions during their years of service and is one of the most prestigious awards distributed by the university. A reception for the honorees will follow the meeting in the lobby of Tod Hall.
