Meridian HealthCare Hires Whirrett as Development Coordinator

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Meridian HealthCare recently added Breanna Whirrett as development coordinator. In this role, Whirrett will organize and raise funds for The Meridian HealthCare Foundation to support individuals and their caregivers in recovery from addiction, mental health problems, and other diseases.

“I’m looking forward to navigating the ins and outs of the agency, especially from a clinical standpoint,” says Whirrett. “I have an amazing opportunity to learn from my teammates and the individuals we serve while also growing in my role. I am excited to build new relationships and do my part in improving our services and meeting our clients’ needs. I believe that if I can use my experiences and skills to make life better for others, I’m doing exactly what I was created to do.”

Before joining the team at Meridian HealthCare, Whirrett graduated from John Carroll University with a B.A. in professional and technical writing, where she began her fundraising career as a student caller and supervisor.

Previously, Whirrett served as director of development at Shelter Care Inc. for five years. In this role, she gained experience in grant writing, event planning, and building relationships with individuals, local businesses, foundations, and community partners to provide residential and mental health support to the homeless.

“We are thrilled to have Breanna as part of the team,” says Larry Moliterno, president and CEO of Meridian HealthCare. “Her unique background is impressive, but her passion for helping people when they are searching for hope is what makes her an asset.”

Outside of work, Whirrett loves spending time with her two children, family and friends. She enjoys running, reading and cleaning for her clients through her own cleaning business.
