20th Annual Streetscape to be Held Saturday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown CityScape will host its 20th annual Streetscape cleanup event in downtown Youngstown Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
More than 600 volunteers are registered for Streetscape 2017: People + Vision + Action to work in downtown Youngstown and in neighborhoods across the city. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. A registration form can be found here.
In addition, Youngstown State University’s Department of Campus Recreation will host more than 200 high school students from acros the state as part of the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership program. The students will work in Wick and Crandall parks.
“What started as a grassroots effort with a handful of passionate volunteers 20 years ago in then-Federal Plaza has grown to become an annual city tradition which involves hundreds volunteers spread throughout many locations in both downtown and the neighborhoods,” said CityScape Executive Director Sharon Letson in a release. “We’re proud of this milestone and are so grateful for the community’s support over the years.”
