21 New COVID-19 Cases in Mahoning County
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mahoning County reports 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease spread by the coronavirus.
Data from Mahoning County Public Health on Friday shows 358 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 157 hospitalizations and 31 deaths, up from 28 deaths reported Thursday. More than half (52%) of the deaths are among those 80 years and older, with those aged 60 to 79 making up 37% of COVID-19 deaths in the county.
Of those who have died, 96% have an underlying health condition, 45% are residents of long-term care facilities, and the median age is 79. More information will posted after the Ohio Department of Health releases its numbers at 2 p.m.
