3 Minutes With: Lordstown Motors Prepares for Unveiling

LORDSTOWN, Ohio – As Lordstown Motors Co. prepared to unveil its new Endurance, Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov Jon Husted toured the plant with CEO Steve Burns and got an early look at the electric powered truck.

The startup automaker is the first step in the “Voltage Valley” push to bring electric vehicle technology of the Mahoning Valley. With Lordstown Motors getting a head start on competitors by purchasing a plant with machinery still in it, the potential looks brighter almost every day.

“It’s going to be very exciting when people see it. This is an important day for the Mahoning Valley and the state of Ohio,” DeWine said of the Endurance, which will be unveiled by Vice President Mike Pence Thursday. “For people in the Mahoning Valley, it doesn’t seem fast enough but to think how fast this emerged and how many sales they’ve already made to fleets is phenomenal.”
