3 New Staffers Joining Johnson at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three new staffers will join Bill Johnson when he becomes the 10th president of Youngstown State University.
Monday is Johnson’s first day on the job.
Two of the new staffers, Sarah Keeler of Canfield and Maria Bova of Boardman, work on Johnson’s congressional staff. Keeler is district director, and Bova is a constituent services caseworker.
Keeler will be special assistant of government affairs at YSU, with an annual salary of $170,000. Bova will be associate director of government affairs and earn $57,360 annually.
“After being mostly dormant for the past 10 years, YSU has reestablished its government affairs office,” YSU spokeswoman Rebecca Rose wrote in an email. “Until now, YSU had been the only state university in Ohio without government affairs.”
The other new staffer, Tim Harrington of Canfield, has worked for 10 years as chief operating officer and vice president for operations at BOC Water Hydraulics in Salem.
He’ll be Johnson’s executive assistant at YSU, earning $92,000 annually.
Johnson has been in Congress since 2011. He’ll resign, effective Sunday, before starting as the 10th president of YSU on Monday.
