3-Year Super Cruise Plan Included With Hummer EV
DETROIT – Super Cruise, the hands-free driver assistance technology, will be included in a 3-year subscription for all Hummer EV buyers. The technology is compatible with 200,00 miles of road and continues to grow, says GMC.
Super Cruise includes features such as hands-free driving and automatic lane change. GMC says while there is limited availability, it will be available on the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, Denali Ultimate Models, the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate model and the Hummer EV pickup and SUV models.
With Lane Change on Demand and Automatic Lane Change, Super Cruise can now both drive on compatible roads and make lane changes hands-free.
The feature is available with Adaptive Cruise Control acceleration and braking, following a driver-selected gap. Super Cruise is also compatible with GMC Connected Services, which use real-time cameras, sensors, GPS and LiDAR map data for detected curves.
While Super Cruise enables hands-free driving, GMC warns that it is still no replacement for driver responsibility and attentiveness. If the driver is needed to step in, the wheel light will turn from green to red. After extended time, a voice alert and automatic stopping may be triggered.
Super Cruise users are required to have an eligible GMC Connected Services plan and also will be connected to OnStar Emergency Services. The OnStar connection will allow for advisors to assist drivers if they were to become non-responsive during Super Cruise activation.
