W3 Wealth Management Acquires Columbus Firm
WARREN, Ohio — W3 Wealth Management, which produces the Cautious Investor series in The Business Journal and Financial Planning 101 video series in our Business Strategies section, has acquired the Columbus firm of Schiffman Grow & Co. and SG Financial Services. Terms were not disclosed.
Schiffman Grow and SG is an accounting and financial services practice that employs 20, says W3 principal Andrew Moyer, who announced the acquisition.
“This is W3’s fifth acquisition in the last 10 years,” Moyer says.
In addition to its newly acquired office in Columbus, W3 operates offices here and in Akron and Beachwood.
“Similar to our other acquisitions, we will retain all employees of Schiffman Grow as well as its current physical facility,” says Frank Bevilaacqua II, a principal in W3. “Like us, Schiffman Grow is a long-standing, multi-generation family business with hybrid services in both wealth management and accounting. Their solutions, systems and expertise are very similar to ours so we expect the transition to be seamless. In addition, some of Schiffman Grow’s specialized offerings will allow us to expand our services throughout the W3 organization while offering our younger team members a greater chance for advancement within a larger firm.”
W3 Wealth Management is a second-generation, independent financial planning firm with 20 professionals on its staff. Its sister firm, W3 Global Accounting is a 45-member accounting practice. With the acquisition of Schiffman Grow an SG, W3 has become one of the largest independent financial service practices in Ohio.
