$50K Gift Helps Provide Boxes of Food for Valley Families
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A $50,000 donation from attorney Daniel L. Rossi and his family will help provide nearly 2,000 boxes of food for local families.
At various Alta Head Start locations in Mahoning County, families will receive a box of nonperishable food, as well as gift bags for children that include dental hygiene kits, children’s books and other family resources.
“Our donor, my father, wanted to make sure that we were feeding children in Mahoning County,” said Dr. Elena Rossi, a physician at Akron Children’s Hospital. “Through our partnership with Akron Children’s and Second Harvest Food Bank, we identified the children most in need, and Alta was able to provide the locations where we can have the greatest impact.”
Additional Akron Children’s donors are assisting in providing the necessary transportation for food deliveries.
“Providing for the well-being of our Valley’s families is at the heart of what we do at Alta,” said Joe Shorokey, CEO of Alta Care Group. “We are thrilled to play a part in reaching families that are touched by food insecurity and provide the necessary support they need.”
