7 17 Credit Union Plans Canfield, Warren Branches

WARREN, Ohio – 7 17 Credit Union plans to build new branches in Canfield and adjacent to its headquarters on Larchmont Avenue here.

The new Canfield branch, at 4280 Boardman-Canfield Road, will offer lobby and drive-thru services as well as ATM access. It will be the credit union’s 13th branch office and its fourth in Mahoning County.

“This location presents us with a prime opportunity to better serve our members traveling the Route 224 corridor,” said Gary Soukenik, president and CEO of 7 17 Credit Union, in a statement. “It is through our members’ support and the hard work of our dedicated staff that we have grown to be the financially strong financial cooperative that we are, and we are confident that this will be an exciting and positive addition for both our members and employees.”

The new Warren branch will be constructed adjacent to the existing branch and operations center at 3181 Larchmont Ave. NE. When the new office opens, the existing branch will become expanded space for back-office operations.

“7 17’s continued growth has led us to a point where we have exceeded our current operations center’s capacity. That, coupled with the need to update our Larchmont branch, led us to this decision,” said Soukenik.”

A groundbreaking for both locations will occur later this month with construction anticipated to be finished in early 2019.

7 17 Credit Union was established in 1957. With more than 79,000 members and 12 offices, it is the largest credit union in northeastern Ohio.
