717 Credit Union Updates Its Brand Identity

WARREN, Ohio — 7 17 Credit Union is launching a refreshed brand identity that includes a new color scheme, an updated logo and a new website. The visual changes will roll out in the coming weeks while the new website is expected to go live in mid- to late April, the credit union said.

The update follows an extensive analysis of 7 17’s brand that included focus groups, surveys and interviews of its employees, members and non-members, and comes as the organization creates a more user-friendly, consistent website across devices.

“We found that members and non-members alike have a positive view of our organization, its culture, and the quality of our financial solutions, and we’re very proud of that as well as our 60 years of stability and growth in Northeast Ohio,” said Gary Soukenik, president and CEO, in a statement. “This refreshed look represents that history while holding true to our core identity as a financial cooperative committed to helping our members build their financial strength. Additionally, it positions us for growth in areas outside of our historic base in the Mahoning Valley.”

Red and slate blue is the organization’s new color scheme. Red represents 7 17’s strength as Northeast Ohio’s largest credit union and its energy and enthusiasm for helping its members, while the blue represents the stability and trust the organization has built in its 60-year history, the credit union said in a news release.

The current logo will be replaced with a circular design that uses the numerals “7” and “17” separated by color. The circle encompassing the numerals represents 7 17’s common bond with the membership and its commitment to building members’ financial strength. The credit union has also adopted the tagline “Respectfully. Yours.”

“‘Respectfully. Yours.’ expresses our organizational values and speaks to the essence of how we operate,” said Soukenik. “The credit union truly belongs to our member-owners, and our focus is on providing them with the financial solutions they need in the respectful manner they deserve.”

7 17 Credit Union is a progressive, member-owned financial institution established in 1957. With more than 79,000 members and 12 offices, it is the largest credit union in northeastern Ohio. Anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Portage, Summit or Stark counties is eligible to become a member.
