717 Named to Forbes’ Best Credit Unions List

WARREN, Ohio – 717 Credit Union has been named to Forbes’ list of Best-In-State Credit Unions for 2022, one of just three in Ohio to earn the distinction, the company reported Wednesday.

Of the 5,041 credit unions in the United States, just 171, or 3.4%, made the cut and just three out of Ohio’s 241 credit unions received the designation, the company said.

The ranking is based on consumer surveys conducted by Statista working in conjunction with Forbes. Consumers were asked to provide an overall satisfaction score for their financial institutions and answered detailed questions focused on six facets of relationship: trust, terms and conditions –including reasonable and transparent fees — branch services, digital services, customer service, and financial advice.

“We are particularly proud of this distinction because it is based on feedback from our members,” said Gary Soukenik, president and CEO of 7 17 Credit Union. “We take great pride in serving as a trusted, financial partner for our account holders as reflected in our strong, 65-year history of growth.”

In March, S&P Global Market Insights named 717 Credit Union among the top 100 credit unions in the United States and number one in Ohio for the second consecutive year.

The credit union is the largest in Northeast Ohio with 13 branch locations and more than 100,000 members. Anyone living or working in Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana, Portage, Stark or Summit Counties is eligible to open accounts with 717.
