$780K Awarded for Project at Site of Former East Palestine Gas Station
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – The Columbiana County Land Reutilization Corporation will receive $780,000 to remediate and redevelop the site of a former gas station and auto garage at 448 E. Taggart St.
The project, which will include demolition, soil remediation and the removal of aging above-ground storage tanks, will create a development-ready commercial/industrial property.
The funding, announced Wednesday, is part of $86.1 million in state support to help clean up and redevelop 81 hazardous brownfield sites in 46 counties.
The Ohio Department of Development is awarding the funding through the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program.
