898 Marketing Receives Two Akron Addys
CANFIELD, Ohio — 898 Marketing took home two American Advertising Federation – Akron awards during the Feb. 18 event.
The eight-year-old agency earned a Gold Addy in the Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category for Direct Marketing & Specialty Advertising for its Christmas Gift Boxes, which were developed for its partners and clients. The “8-9-8 Days of Christmas” gift boxes featured an Advent calendar of gifts, including items from local businesses.
It also received a Silver Addy in the self-promotion category for Online/Interactive with the redesign of its website at 898Marketing.com. The redesign is more reflective of the atmosphere and culture cultivated by team members, while implementing enhanced features and techniques delivering results in today’s digital world, according to a company release. The site went live in July 2021 and includes videos and pictures of the team, as well as client case studies.
“To be recognized by our peers and experts from the American Advertising Federation of Akron is a testament to the great team and culture we have that strives to be the best version of ourselves every day,” said Jeff Ryznar, 898 president. “This mantra is reflected, not only in the honor earned by these award winning initiatives, but in the great team we have at 898 Marketing who make me proud of not only everything we produce, but to learn and grow alongside them every day.”
898 was one of three agencies in the Youngstown, Akron and Canton areas to be invited by the AAF-Akron team to assist in design elements for the 2022 Awards Ceremony, according to the release. 898 was credited with developing this year’s theme, tagline and logo. The agency assisted with the outdoor billboard and social media elements, the winners’ book cover and overall book design distributed to ceremony attendees and winners.
“We are truly grateful for the positive impact we have made to this developing this year’s Addy Awards theme and to the committee for finding us deserving of their accolades,” Ryznar said. “We will celebrate our achievements not only from the AAF-Akron, but also from the trust our clients show us in delivering solutions that help tell their story and grow their business every day.”
