Change Makers | John Kufleitner
For John Kufleitner, president of Kufleitner Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, it’s important to support the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley because he, and his employees, want to help as many people as they can.
“We feel we have a civic duty to do everything we can to make our community a better place,” Kufleitner says. “These are the people that give me my livelihood. They help me, and in turn I help them.”
Central to Kufleitner’s causes is autism. It’s something that he and his wife live with daily, he says. So he’s supported such organizations as the Rich Center For Autism, Potential Development and the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley.
“Christmas time, we reach out to churches, parishes and ask them if they know of families who are really struggling; somebody we can help,” he says. “Because everybody’s struggling. Everybody needs a hand.”
In his interview with Roxann Sebest, United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, Kufleitner says he’s hopeful the United Way can continues to make the Mahoning Valley “a better place for all of us to live, and changing the community one person, one child at a time.”
