YSU, YBI Observe Global Entrepreneurship Week
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business, the Monus Entrepreneurship Center and the Youngstown Business Incubator will mark Global Entrepreneurship Week with a series of events beginning today and concluding Friday with an elevator pitch competition.
This afternoon, during a panel in Williamson Hall, YBI entrepreneurs Elijah Stambaugh, Jim D’Andrea, Brian Alls and Cris Young will discuss their decision to become entrepreneurs and their journeys, and offer insights for aspiring entrepreneurs. The panel will run from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Rooms 3422 and 3423.
On Wednesday, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Jim Cossler, YBI’s CEO and chief evangelist, will present Startup 101, covering what an entrepreneur needs to know about starting a business from the “killer idea” to gaining traction in the desired market. The panel will take place in Williamson 1112.
The Social Good and Entrepreneurship Panel will follow on Thursday, also running from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 1112. Panelists will include Jennifer and Josh Langenheim of Stone Fruit Coffee Co., Marcy Angelo, SNLO & NGLU; Gianna Centofanti, YBI and Enactus.
On Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. YSU business students will pitch their ideas to YBI’s Jim Cossler, Rich Wetzel and Brittany Housel in the YBI Elevator Pitch Competition for feedback and the chance to win $150.The cpmpetition will be held in Williamson Room 3422.
