Lib’s Cafe Opens New Site in Canfield Library
CANFIELD, Ohio – Lib’s Cafe has opened a new site inside the Canfield Library, offering coffee, pastries, espresso, cappuccinos, loose-leaf tea and boba tea.
After a soft opening, the cafe is closed for the New Year’s holiday and will reopen Jan. 4.
In a statement, owners Ben and Lindsay Ratner said they’re “are excited to bring their in-house roasted specialty coffees, as well as scratch-made pastries to the Canfield Branch Library.”
The cafe will also include locally made products, such as cookies from the Orange Avocado and dog treats from Jax Snax.
“We are so happy to welcome Lib’s Café to our Library family,” said Aimee Fifarek, executive director of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, in a statement. “Their enthusiasm and experience, coupled with in-house roasted coffees and homemade pastries, make a perfect combination. We wish them much success in this venture.”
Lib’s Cafe is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Ratners hope to eventually use the library’s outdoor space when the weather and pandemic allows.
The Ratners opened Libs Cafe – the name incorporates the name of their family: Ben and Lindsay, along with Lilly, Isabelle and Simon. Brodie Ratner, the newest addition to the family, was born in October – in 2015 and has since expanded to sites in Best Western Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana and Greenford Christian Church in Greenford.
