12 Students Chosen for YSU’s Export Internship Program
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A dozen students have been selected to take part in the Ohio Export Internship Program at the Williamson College of Business Administration.
This summer’s cohort includes 11 students from Youngstown State University and one from the University of Akron.
The full-time paid internship tasks participants with working for area businesses on projects ranging from market research to international business plans.
Over the seven years YSU has hosted the Ohio Development Services Agency program, it has places 75 students into internships, with 14 receiving full-time job offers upon completion.
Each year, students are formed into teams to complete real-life company projects with Ohio SBDC Export Assistance Network clients. In total, the YSU cohort has completed 25 company projects, either an International Business Plan or Export Compliance Manual.
Students selected for the internships completed specialized coursework in exporting this spring semester taught by Mousa Kassis, director of the Export Assistance Network in the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU.
This year’s participants, their major and the company they’re working with are:
- Abraham Abdel Rasoul, financial management, Malco Products Inc.
- Emily Allegretti, international business, ACE Products & Consulting LLC.
- Sydney Cusick, marketing, E-Tint LLC.
- Mouad Elouaddi, finance, Orazen Extruded Polymers Inc.
- Ilgar Guliyev, accounting, Daavlin Distributing Co.
- Bashar Rasoul, business economics, Express Systems and Parts Network Inc.
- Cooper Smith, marketing management, BriskHeat Inc.
- Cassandra Tomlin, management, T.J. Davies Company Inc.
- Olivia Wilcox, business administration, Brilex Tech Services Inc.
- Allison Workman, human resource management, Columbiana Boiler Co. LLC.
- Hunter Ulbright, management, Haltec Corp.
Also participating from the University of Akron is Alyson Pekkola, an international business major working with Safeguard Technology.
