Solar Atmospheres’ New Building Nearly Complete
HERMITAGE, Pa. – Thanks to the unseasonably warm winter, Solar Atmospheres of Western PA’s new 18,000-square-foot building should be fully enclosed by the end of this month, within 2½ months of its groundbreaking.
Once the 20-ton crane is installed and the floor is poured, the building will be ready to accept delivery in mid-February of the massive chambers for its new commercial vacuum furnace by Youngberg Industries, located in Belvidere, Ill.
Solar Atmospheres says the vacuum furnace will be the largest in the world. Because of the project’s magnitude, Solar Manufacturing and Solar Atmospheres of Western PA employees will cooperatively build the vacuum furnace on site.
“It will be extremely exciting to assemble and ultimately place into production this one of a kind vacuum furnace which is primarily earmarked to serve the needs of the aerospace and nuclear markets around the world,” said Bob Hill, president of Solar Atmospheres of Western PA.
