New Home Listings, Sales Up in Mahoning Valley
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Data from MLS Now show the 18-county region, which includes Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties, saw housing sales in April increase 2.8% month-over-month with 3,757 listings sold.
New listings were up as well, with 5,360 listings going on the market, up 7% from March. Compared to April 2020, sold listings were up 13.9% and new listings were up 36.3%. Regionally, the average sale price in April was $212,040, up 6.8% from March.
Locally, Mahoning County led the Valley with 227 houses sold in April, up from 212 sold in March, and up 11.3% from 204 sold in April 2020. The county reported 287 new listings for the month, which is 21 more than was reported in March.
Houses sold in Mahoning County for an average price of $152,856, which is up from an average sale price of $148,093 in March, and up 11.5% from $137,092 in April 2020.
Trumbull County reported 208 listings sold in April, up from 175 in March and up 36% from the 153 sold in April 2020. Trumbull also saw 234 new listings on the market last month, up from 214 in March, and up 84.3% from 127 new listings in April 2020.
The average sale price for houses sold in Trumbull County last month was $145,391, up from $138,220 in March, and up 24.9% from April 2020, when the average sale price was $116,389.
Columbiana County reported 64 houses sold last month, which is down from the 70 sold in March, but up from the 50 sold in April 2020. New listings increased to 115 in April from 111 the month prior, and were up from 71 in April 2020.
Last month, houses sold for an average price of $146,098 in Columbiana County, which is up from the $129,968 average price in March, and is up 42.8% from April 2020, when the average sale price was $102,301.
