TCTC Kicks Off Summer Camps with Career Exploration
WARREN, Ohio – Trumbull Career & Technical Center started its first camp program of the summer this week, with students in grades 7 through 9 participating in the Career Camp.
Students, who can attend a single day or multiple days of the camp, are able to gain real-world experiences in more than 20 career paths.
“It was important for us to structure our camp in a way that provided students with many options and the flexibility to explore multiple different career fields,” said TCTC career development coordinator Rachel Gensburg in a statement. “The earlier and more frequent we can expose students to various career opportunities, the more likely they will make decisions after high school that best suit them and lead to professional success.”
Among the skills and careers available to students are Adobe Photoshop, Air Force “Marching Madness,” automotive maintenance, babysitting basics and “Critter Care.”
Students in grades 6 through 9 will take part in TCTC’s Manufacturing Camp next week, sponsored by City Machine Technologies and Bolts & Thingamajigs. Students will participate throughout the week in one of the three tracks: Entrepreneurship: From Planning to Production, Manufacturing Your Future Through Engineering and Welding to the Workforce.
