Schwebel’s to Commemorate 115 Years in Business
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A household name in the Mahoning Valley plans to celebrate 115 years in business this week.
The Schwebel Baking Co. will hold a private event Thursday, June 24, for employees to celebrate the company’s continued legacy and commitment to the community, the bakery announced Tuesday.
The business was founded in 1906 in Campbell by Joseph and Dora Schwebel and is still a family-owned business today. Throughout the years, The Schwebel Baking Co. has expanded and become a regional leader in the bread industry. The company’s popular baked products include Schwebel’s Giant Bread, ‘taliano, Sweet Wheat, Jewish Rye, and Hometown breads and buns.
Schwebel’s operates two bakeries — its headquarters on Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown and a second location in Hebron, Ohio. Today, the company employs more than 800 at its two locations.
