Chick-Fil-A Buys Former Mashorda’s County Garden for $1.87M
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Chick-Fil-A Inc. has purchased two properties in Austintown – the former Mashorda’s County Gardens – for a combined $1.87 million to build a new restaurant.
The chicken restaurant chain, based in Atlanta, bought the property at 5647 Mahoning Ave. – for $1,525,000 and the adjacent property at 5657 Mahoning Ave, which has the former Mashorda’s County Gardens building, for $350,000.
Mashorda’s County Gardens closed in August 2016 after 67 years in business. It was opened in 1949 by Ray Mashorda Sr. His son, Ray Jr., took over in the late 1990s and ran it until it closed.
Since closing, the site has been home to a fresh produce stand and, occasionally, a Chick-Fil-A food truck.
Chick-Fil-A has sites in two sites in Boardman – on U.S. Route 224 and inside the Southern Park Mall – as well as in Howland and at Youngstown State University.
