Kravitz Supports Animal Welfare League for National Deli Month
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — To commemorate National Deli Month, Kravitz Deli will make a donation to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County for every boxed lunch sold.
Throughout August, Kravitz will donate $10 to the organization for every order of 10 boxed lunches or more, according to a press release. Company President Jack Kravitz encourages customers to support what he affectionately refers to as the “Boxes for Boxers” promotion.
“During COVID, many people adopted pets as companions to help with the loneliness of staying home,” Animal Welfare League CEO Lori Shandor said in the release. “Soon people realized that having a pet was a big commitment and the once empty shelters are filling up with abandoned animals as people return to work.”
Proceeds from the Boxes for Boxers donations will go toward medical care for the shelter animals, including vaccinations, microchips and spaying/neutering, she said.
Kravitz and his corgi, Dylan, are excited for the promotion.
“Boxed lunches became very popular with our customers, as they are a safe and thoughtful way to enjoy the deli’s offerings,” Kravitz said in the release. “We have had businesses sponsor boxes for employee appreciation lunches and essential worker meals at the hospitals, nursing homes and factories.”
Individual boxed lunches come sealed for safety and include a choice of sandwich, pickle, chips or deli salad, a cooke and individually sealed condiments. Sandwich options are corned beef, turkey, ham or pastrami. Orders require a 24-hour notice. Reubens and grilled sandwiches are not available for boxed lunches.
