Former Brainard Strapping Plant Sold for $1.1M

WARREN, Ohio — The former Brainard Strapping plant, once a division of the former Sharon Steel Corp., was sold to a Youngstown-based buyer for $1.1 million.

The sale of the property at 2250 Larchmont Ave. closed on Aug. 4 to MMTK Family LLC, according to the Trumbull County Auditor’s website. The previous owner, Gearmar Properties Inc. an Ohio Corporation, had purchased the property from Brainard Corp. in January 2005 for $200,000.

MMTK, a real estate investment firm, was incorporated in 2002, according to the Secretary of State’s website. Documents list the agent for MMTK as Michael Philips at 2360 Funston Drive in Youngstown, which is the same address as Coronado Steel Co.

At press time, a message left with Philips hasn’t been returned.
