Google Mindfulness Training Here March 10-11
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute is coming here March 10-11 for a two-day personal and professional development program co-sponsored by the Youngstown Business Incubator.
The program, based on the New York Times bestselling book Search Inside Yourself by Google engineer Chade-Meng Tan, teaches attention and mindfulness training as it helps individuals build emotional intelligence skills needed for effective leadership in a digital age.
The conference will be the first time the institute has conducted its program in Ohio. Youngstown’s venue is among a long list of programs that have already taken place or are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, New York, and major cities across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia and Australia.
The local event will take place at the Tyler History Center downtown. Ticket information and registration can be found here. The cost ranges from $700 to $1,350.
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13, noted in the announcement of the institute’s event here that he’s “a huge advocate of mindfulness practices because of the tremendous difference they’ve made in my life and I am excited that these practices and techniques are now going to be taught in Youngstown.”
Ryan is the author of “A Mindful Nation: How Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance, and Recapture the American Spirit,” published in 2012.
The Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute uses three key elements during the training: the latest in neuroscience research, emotional intelligence development, and mindfulness training. Participants learn how to focus their attention and develop positive mental habits, improve their emotional competencies, and increase their self-awareness and self-management skills.
“Our institute is a globally-recognized training organization that has worked with thousands of senior professionals from companies around the world,” said institute co-founder Marc Lesser. “We help professionals at all levels adapt, evolve, and optimize their impact and influence on their organization. Give us your attention for a few days and we’ll show you how to focus it for the rest of your life.”
Among the companies and organizations using the Search Inside Yourself Learning Institute’s methods of focus and emotional intelligence development are Google, LinkedIn, Ford, Vanderbilt University, the Haas School of Business at Berkeley and Farmers Insurance.
The leadership institute has been featured on CNN as well as Fast Company, Wired, and The New York Times.
The organization is guided by a board that includes Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post and neuroscientist Dr. Richard Davidson.
