Phoenix Award Nominations Extended to Sept. 10
SHARON, Pa. — Nominations for the annual Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce Phoenix Recognition Awards have been extended to Sept. 10.
Any individual, business or organization that is a member of the chamber may nominate for any or all of the awards. Nominations are based on the performance of nominees for the calendar year Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31.
Eligible individuals, businesses or organizations must have a physical location in the Shenango Valley area, must do business in the area and must be a member in good standing with the Chamber. Nominees can be submitted for more than one category, but can only receive one of the listed awards, including New Business Startup, Innovation, Growth Manufacturing, Growth Service, Growth Business and Beautification.
Nomination packages should include a completed nomination cover page, as well as:
• Optional nomination letter no more than two pages, outlining specific business objectives, specific achievements, community support, etc.
• Business profile no more than one page, describing specific type of business and the business history of the individual, business or organization (may be included as part of the optional nomination letter).
• Some of the awards may require verification of sales numbers, employee numbers and other pertinent business and financial information. It would be preferable to include this information with the nomination. Chamber representatives will contact any companies that are nominated if this information is not included and is needed.
• Any other supporting documentation deemed significant by the nominator, including news clips, letters of recommendation and other evidence validating the nomination. Supporting documentation must not exceed five pages. Videos will not be considered.
A nominations and forms must be submitted to Olivia “Brown no later than Friday, Sept. 10, either in person or by mail to Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, 41 Chestnut Ave., Sharon, Pa. 16146.
The Phoenix Awards luncheon is scheduled for Sept. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Corinthian Banquet Hall and Event Center, 47 Vine Ave., Sharon.
