Penn State Shenango Lecture Series Starts with Cybersecurity Talk
SHARON, Pa. – Penn State Shenango’s annual lecture series will begin Sept. 23 with a presentation by Matthew DeMaria on cybersecurity.
DeMaria, a lecturer in information, sciences and technology at the Sharon, Pa., campus, will discuss what a digital footprint is, how it affects our lives and how it can affect the future.
“I will also present techniques that we can use to help control what we leave behind both from a consumer focus and a cybersecurity professional’s approach,” he said in a statement.
The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. Attendees must register in advance – available HERE – for all Lecture Series events; masks are required in all indoor spaces at Penn State Shenango, regardless of vaccination status.
Other scheduled presentations in the Lecture Series include:
- Nov. 11 – “A Tale of Two Cities: The impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable populations in Toronto, Canada, and London, England” with health policy professor Iffath Syed.
- Feb. 2 – “It Takes a Village: Why co-parenting matters for child development” with human development and family studies profess Lauren Altenburger.
- March 24 – “Friendship in the Digital Age: Togetherness in lonely times” with communications professor Tiffany Petricini.
