Salem Hills Golf Club Reopening this Month
SALEM, Ohio – Salem Hills Golf and Country Club will reopen in mid-March under a new multi-year lease agreement between the Bricker family, who purchased the course March 2, and Ben Broderick.
The golf course closed in December 2014.
“I would like to thank the Bricker family for considering leasing the facility to me and the many people who contacted them and me and urged us to find a way to keep the course open,” Broderick said in a statement. “I’m extremely pleased that we’ve been able to reach an agreement that works for all of us and I’m anxious to get to work so I can open the course as soon as possible.”
Broderick worked as the course’s PGA golf professional from March 1999 until o its closing just over a year ago.
Salem Hills will remain a semi-private golf club, he said, with membership packages available while remaining open to the public for outings and league play.
“I think this operational structure is perfect because it provides the benefits of club membership to those who want it and enables the public to play what is generally recognized as a premier 18-hole layout,” he said, adding that prices for memberships, green fees and cart rental prices are still being worked out.
On March 8, Broderick announced the course would reopen within 10 days.
