Sanders to Hold Rally Monday at Covelli Center
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will hold a rally at the Covelli Centre Monday at 11 a.m., the campaign announced Saturday evening.
The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, according to the Democratic presidential candidates website. The doors open at 8 a.m.
Sanders’ rally is set one hour after Gov. John Kasich is schedule to start his town hall meeting just a few blocks away at Brilex Industries, 101 Andrews Ave., at which time Jim Tressel, the president of Youngstown State University, will endorse Kasich in the Republican Party’s presidential contest.
Like the Sanders campaign has across the country, the event here is called “A future to Believe in Youngstown Rally.” The candidate will also hold a rally in Akron Monday with that program at Akron Civic Theatre beginning at 1 p.m. From there he travels to Charlotte, N. C., St. Louis and ends his day in Chicago
Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri, Illinois and Florida hold primary election contests Tuesday.
