Mahoning Valley Residents Buy Fewer Autos in November

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In November, Mahoning Valley residents purchased 4,143 new and used vehicles, which is 56 fewer than the same time a year ago, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

Where new vehicle sales fell year-over-year, however, used vehicle sales increased by 460. New-car sales to buyers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties totaled 1,837 in November, down from 2,345 buyers in November 2020. That compares to 2,232 used-car buyers last month, up from 1,772 in November 2020. 

Among local dealerships, Taylor Kia of Boardman led in new-car sales with 119 sold last month, followed by Fred Martin Ford with 93, Fairway Ford with 90, Boardman Subaru with 79 and Toyota of Boardman with 72.

For used-car sales, Fred Martin Ford was the No. 1 store in the three-county area with 129 sold. Also hitting triple digits were Greenwood Chevrolet with 114 and Boardman Subaru with 102.

Across the auto dealer association’s 22-county footprint, combined new- and used-car sales in November were up slightly from last year with 6,257 vehicles sold. 

Fred Martin Ford ranked fourth in the region with 238 vehicles sold last month. Rounding out the Mahoning Valley dealerships who ranking in the Top 10 were Taylor Kia of Boardman in fifth with 238, Fairway Ford was No. 7 with 209 and Boardman Subaru was No. 8 with 206.
