Women’s Basketball Coach to Keynote Athena Dinner
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Agnus Berenato, a television sports analyst and women’s basketball coach at the University of Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech, will keynote the 24th annual Athena Award Dinner.
Berenato, who was just named head women’s basketball coach at Kennesaw State University in Georgia on Wednesday, will focus on “Having It All But Changing the Rules.”
During the annual program, May 19 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Boardman, the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber and co-presenter The Vindicator/vindy.com will honor and recognize 21 Athena nominees. This year’s honorees are:

In addition, the recipient of the $1,500 Athena Scholarship, created in 2007 through a partnership with the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, will be announced. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield also will present scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each to two more scholarship applicants.
The event will open with a cocktail reception (cash bar) at 5:30 p.m., followed by the dinner and program at 6:15 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $70 per person. Invitations will be mailed.
