YWCA Gets $10K Grant for Racial Justice Programs
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio —YWCA Mahoning Valley has received a $10,000 Ohio Humanities SHARP Award for its racial justice programming.
The events begin this month with Stand Against Racism at 5 p.m. April 28 at the YWCA’s Youngstown location. Speaker topics will be critical race theory, living wage, reproductive justice, and film and television. Registration is free.
YWCA’s lunch & learn series continues with After the Lines Are Drawn, a virtual talk with Kathleen Chaffee Gaige, chair of the Voter Services Committee at League of Women Voters Greater Youngstown on redistricting. The event is April 18 at 12 p.m. Register here.
Cynthia Connolly, director of programming at City Club of Cleveland, will give a talk at the YWCA at noon May 16 on indigenous “erasure” and Native American representation. Register here.
