During the 2021-2022 school year, the program distributed over 9,000 meals, 15 winter coats, numerous hats, gloves and socks. It also provided 63 students with backpacks filled with school supplies.
Backpack Buddy started through a weekly program to help students in need over the weekend and during school breaks. On average, 65 students a week take home a bag of food, containing four meals and two snacks.
“State Farm has been an amazing partner to us,” saiysPam Baker who started and manages the Backpack Buddy program. “We are so grateful for their continued support as this program has evolved, so we can continue to provide meals to students during this very difficult time.”
