Gibson Celebrates with Community Appreciation Event
GIRARD, Ohio – As part of their 75th Anniversary celebration, the Gibson Agency of Girard is inviting the public to a Community Appreciation Event from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 29.
“We’re pretty community focused around here,” said Andrew D. Thompson, vice president. “The community is why we’re here. We’re all about giving back to the community and we’re opening it up to them.”
The event at the Gibson offices at 984 Tibbetts-Wick Road will include giveaway items, but he said it will be mostly a food event.
“Just something to bring everyone together,” Thompson said.
Local food trucks slated will include Sprankles Concessions, which specializes in gyros and other fair food items; Curby’s Custard, a frozen treats business; and Sweet Sips – a mobile bar experience. The Gibson Agency will be providing additional food.
The event will help feed the community as a whole with those attending asked to bring a non-perishable donation to contribute to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Thompson said the Gibson Agency looks for any possible opportunity to support the Second Harvest, “a great organization and great people.”
The most needed items include peanut butter, cereal, tuna fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit and dry pasta. For those unable to attend, items also may be dropped off at the Gibson Insurance offices during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Fridays, between now and the event.
Gibson Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of Thompson Insurance Group, specializes in auto, home and small business insurance and strives to build relationships with their customers.
