U.S. News Names Mercy Hospitals as High Performing
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — U.S. News and World Report has named all three Mercy Health Youngstown hospitals as high performing hospitals.
All three hospitals were named high performing in various conditions for 2022 through 2023, which is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.
The annual procedures and conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital is rated as high performing in one adult specialty, urology, and four procedures and conditions: heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD].
Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngtown Hospital is rated as high performing in six procedures and conditions: heart attack, heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure, stroke and COPD.
Mercy Health – St. Joseph Warren Hospital is rated as high performing in two procedures and conditions: kidney failure and COPD.
“Mercy Health has provided high-quality, compassionate care for more than 100 years and recognitions like these from U.S. News & World Report further demonstrate our commitment of improving the health of our communities,” said John Luellen, president of Mercy Health – Youngstown.
For the 2022-2023 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Fewer than half of all hospitals received any High Performing rating, and only four earned this rating in all procedures and conditions. State and metro area rankings reflect the highest performing hospitals in the area across multiple areas of care.
