Five Companies to Pitch Ideas to ‘Sharks’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio —The Youngstown Business Incubator has selected five portfolio companies to pitch their business ideas to a panel of “sharks” for the 2022 Shark Tank event Oct. 6.
This year, returning sharks are philanthropist and First Lady of Youngstown State University Ellen Tressel and Lenny Fisher, CEO of Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt.
New to the panel this year are Tom Stabi of Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic CPAs; Herb Washington, CEO of HLW Fastrack Inc.; entrepreneur and former lightweight boxing champion Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini; and Lena Esmail, CEO of QuickMed Urgent Care.
More than 75 applications were received. YBI then selected five companies who will compete for funding
They are:
- Aura Beauty, a beauty company that uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality technology to deliver perfect-fit, reusable manicures to its member’s every month.
- YOGO Bikeshare, the first ever micro-mobility platform in the city of Youngstown allowing patrons to dock a bike from one location and return them to another.
- Juggerbot3D, an additive manufacturing machine builder with a hybrid additive system capable of processing both thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
- Morgen Technology, which provides building owners with operational insight ideal for older, existing structures that lack infrastructure because it employs wireless sensors that do not require batteries and transmits the data using a patent-pending radio technology.
- Tailored Rings, which provides a perfect fit to anyone’s finger, not the knuckle with each purchase going towards a research and development campaign for Additive Manufacturing and Refractory Alloy Development.
