Yorks, DeBartolo Corp. Give YMCA $9,000 Giving Tuesday Pledge

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The YMCA of Youngstown has partnered with Denise and John York and The DeBartolo Corp. to match up to $9,000 in donations pledged for this year’s Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29.

The pledges will help the YMCA reach its goal of $24,000 in donations this year.

“We thank the Yorks and The DeBartolo Corp. for their generosity and dedication to our community,” said Tom Gacse, president and CEO of the YMCA.

“When you give to the Y on Giving Tuesday, or any day of the year, you are ensuring equitable access to resources that the Y is committed to providing, no matter the challenges that may face our communities, economically or socially,” he said.

Giving Tuesday is a global event that celebrates philanthropy and generosity. Money raised for the YMCA this year will go towards funding the following:

• YMCA Financial Assistance Program memberships
• Increased access to the YMCA After School Program
• Y on the Fly initiative experiences
• YMCA ARTreach Program
• LiveStrong at the YMCA Program
