Premier Bank Announces Band Spirit Contest Winners
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Liberty High School marching band is the winner of this year’s Band Spirit Contest, Premier Bank announced Tuesday.
In 2017, Premier Bank and Youngstown CityScape began the Strike Up the Band program and invited local area high school marching bands to participate in the Youngstown Holiday Parade. Premier Bank donated $1,000 plus travel expenses to each participating school band.
“This year was the fourth year we hosted the Band Spirit Contest,” said Josh Toot, Premier Bank’s Mahoning Valley market president. “The bands were judged based on overall holiday spirit, which included appearance, music and enthusiasm. We’re so glad the students enjoy this event and show up with such delightful holiday spirit.”
The Liberty band was awarded $1,000 for winning the contest. Niles McKinley High School came in second place and was awarded $500. Austintown Fitch High School received $250 for third place.
