Local ESC Business Advisory Councils Honored
COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the third year in a row, the Columbiana County Educational Service Center’s Business Advisory Council has received the coveted four-star Business Education Leader Award rating from the Ohio Department of Education.
The award is given to ESCs across Ohio, acknowledging exceptional work in building partnerships between businesses and schools to enhance education. The partnerships are designed to enhance exposure to professional skills and experiences, including work-based learning opportunities, while leading to better future career prospects for students. The program also is designed to help the education system be more responsive to regional economic drivers and needs of local business and industry.
The Columbiana County ESC’s Business Advisory Council partners with multiple businesses in both Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
The four-star rating is the highest and was awarded to only five business advisory councils from more than 110 such organizations across the state.
The ESC of Eastern Ohio’s Business Advisory Council received a three-star rating, one of 14 business advisory councils honored at that level.
