Aim Transportation Solutions Names Shood CFO
GIRARD, Ohio – Aim Transportation Solutions, a family-owned and operated provider of commercial trucks and transportation services for more than 40 years, has named Harry Shood chief financial officer.
Shood joined Aim a year ago as the chief accounting officer. As CFO, he will oversee Aim’s financial arm.
“At a time of unprecedented growth for Aim, we remain grounded by keeping a focus on long-term stability and continuity, and a key part of a successful long-term strategy is succession planning,” says Aim Co-President Geoff Fleming. “After being here just one short year, Harry has been instrumental in helping to carry out this strategy and accelerating Aim’s success, which is why we have all the confidence in the world that his leadership and expertise will continue to be invaluable for us now and long into the future.”
Shood graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He began his career in public accounting at Hill, Barth & King. Then, in 1995, he went on to earn his CPA license.
As his career evolved into leadership and executive roles, Shood’s skill, dedication and results attracted the attention of some of the Youngstown-Warren area’s most innovative companies serving national and global markets, according to the announcement of his promotion.
Working for these prominent companies – dealing in everything from plated steel and titanium manufacturing, to production of aluminum monobloc cans and bottles, to branded food manufacturing and distribution – has provided Shood a unique and wide-ranging background. Given Aim’s diverse customer base, which spans the nation and operates in countless different industries, his experience will continue to benefit Aim and its valued customers as he assumes the role of CFO.
“Since joining Aim a year ago, I’ve had the opportunity to get acclimated to the business and to the commercial truck services industry, doing so by listening to the wealth of knowledge and experience of Aim’s talented employees, particularly my colleagues on the leadership team,” Shood says.
He succeeds Rick Fox, who was named executive vice president of finance.
In his free time, Shood is active in community-enriching programs through the United Way as well as devoting time to the local Toastmasters chapter. He also enjoys running and biking on the Mill Creek bike path in Canfield and doing yoga.
He resides with his wife of 29 years, Jodi, and his son, Jacob, in Greenford. His daughter, Lindsie, lives and works in the Cleveland area.
