Dickey Electric Puts Stamp On High-Profile Projects
NORTH LIMA – Growth mode continued in 2022 for electrical contractor “Joe” Dickey Electric. Coming off two years of record revenues, the momentum is showing no signs of letting up.
“We have a large backlog of projects heading into 2023 that stretches into 2024 and beyond,” says Eric Carlson, president. “Revenue was steady for 2022, which is excellent because we have had some growth in the last few years. To maintain that is a great accomplishment for everyone on the team.”
Highlighting 2022 was finishing work at the new Akron Children’s Hospital emergency department, which is anticipated to open to the public this spring.
“It was exciting to be part of such a monumental addition to serve the youth of our Valley,” Carlson says.
Other high-profile projects completed were the Salem Regional Medical Center building in Columbiana, which Dickey Electric performed as a joint venture with Tri-Area Electric; an Ohio Turnpike toll collection station in Warren; continued work at Ultium Cells and Foxconn; multiple municipal water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades; and the building addition at the Butler Institute of American Art.
Notable new projects this year include the Junior Fair Coliseum Phase II at the Canfield Fairgrounds and Springhill TownePlace hotel in Canfield.
Dickey Electric also anticipates growth in its planning-layout-design and prefabrication departments; preventive maintenance/testing division and in residential services with a straightforward pricing model.
“We offer a preventive maintenance electrical service that provides business owners with complete safety and compliance solutions to potential electrical hazards,” he says.
Carlson says he’s looking forward to resuming work on the Mercy Health project in Champion. Dickey Electric and Tri-Area Electric were doing design-assist work together on that project during the design phase.
