East Liverpool Hospital to Open Wellsville Clinic
EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool City Hospital will open a walk-in health clinic in Wellsville on March 1.
The Wellsville Rural Health Clinic will offer care to patients who need to be seen locally by a medical provider and can’t wait for an appointment and for those who don’t have an established primary care provider, says Pamela Marshall, director of marketing and business development.
The clinic at 601 Main St. will offer a variety of services for patients with general illnesses and mild injuries. It will also provide some lab services. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, no appointments needed. Medicare, Medicaid, commercial and self-pay patients will be accepted. Dr. Gretchen Nickell will serve as medical director.
East Liverpool City Hospital, which was founded in 1905, has more than 500 employees. Its affiliates include River Valley Physicians, East Liverpool Therapy Center and Ohio Valley Home Health Services.
In July 2022, the hospital was named to the Merative 100 Top Hospitals list for the fifth consecutive year. The annual list recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. The recognition demonstrates East Liverpool City Hospital’s ongoing commitment to make patient-centered care a priority, Marshall says.
Hospitals included on the Merative 100 Top Hospitals list had better results on key clinical and operational performance indicators. These include survival rates, patient complications, health care associated infections, 30-day mortality and 30-day readmission rates, length of stay, throughput in emergency departments, inpatient expenses, profitability and ratings from patients, Marshall says.
East Liverpool City Hospital also received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group. The national distinction recognizes the hospital’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and errors, Marshall says. It was the hospital’s 10th award in five consecutive years.
