Salem Offers Grant Programs for Residents, Building Owners
SALEM, Ohio – The city is offering two new grant programs for residents and owners of downtown buildings.
Residential Sidewalk Project grants are being offered to improve the safety and appearance of residential neighborhoods. The program offers a grant of up to $50 for each qualifying section of sidewalk that a property owner replaces in the residential area of the city, with a maximum of $500. A section of sidewalk is considered to be approximately 5 foot by 5 foot. More information and an application are available HERE.
Downtown Commercial Buildings grants are being offered to improve the appearance of buildings that can be viewed by the public from city streets and alleys. The city will offer matching funds to qualifying building owners for work completed to improve the rear areas of downtown buildings. The grants will be up to 50% of the project cost, with a maximum grant of $1,000. More information and an application are available HERE.
