Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe to Return for Hometown Show
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian and Youngstown native, will come to Powers Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 27, for a 7 p.m. show.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at experienceyourarts.org and the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office.
The Los Angeles-based Hinchcliffe is a touring comic and host of the “Kill Tony” podcast.
In 2020, he began hosting an online course on “Roasting” called RoastMaster Class, in which he draws from his experience as a writer and performer on eight Comedy Central roasts.
Hinchcliffe also tours internationally with Joe Rogan and appears frequently on the JRE podcast.
Hinchcliffe is a 2003 Ursuline High School graduate who grew up on the North Side of Youngstown. He moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue a comedy career and landed his first Netflix special in 2016.
Hinchcliffe has performed in the Mahoning Valley before, at the Funny Farm comedy club. This will mark his first show in a major venue in the city.
The concert will be a phone-free event, which is becoming common in the concert industry. The practice has been used in other cities, but this event could be the first for Youngstown.
Use of cellphones, smart watches, smart accessories, cameras or recording devices will not be permitted in the performance space.
Upon arrival at the venue, all phones, smart watches and accessories will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times and can access their phones throughout the event at designated Phone Use Areas at the venue. All phones will be resecured in Yondr pouches before returning to the event space.
Anyone seen using a cellphone during the performance will be escorted out of the venue.
