Alta, Ohio Urban Renaissance Team Up for Sports-based Program

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A partnership between Alta Behavioral Healthcare and Ohio Urban Renaissance will provide a program that uses sports to meet young people’s health needs.

Ball is Life is a weekly program that will launch Sept. 20 at Alta’s Mahoning Valley Campus of Care location.

The program combines the active approach of mental health found in Adventure Therapy with the mentorship and leadership of recreational sports.

Using team-based building blocks from a range of sports, Ball is Life will provide youths with opportunities to grow mentally and emotionally to help them prepare for the future.

“This partnership with Ohio Urban Renaissance could not be a better fit,” said Joe Shorokey, chief executive officer of Alta Care Group.

The program is open to adolescents age 12 to 18 who are current Alta clients or receive a diagnosis for treatment through Alta.To sign up, parents can call Alta at 330 793 2487 or email [email protected].
