Paint the Park Event to Create Art Trail at Buhl Park
HERMITAGE, Pa. – Paint the Park will bring art and robotics to Buhl Park on Oct. 15.
The Sharon Tiger Techs robotics team will collaborate with artists and other partners to create an Art Trail along the fitness trail in the park.
At five locations, art stations will allow participants to create their own artwork depicting the scene in the park with watercolor supplies available as the primary medium. No experience is necessary and younger artist will be provided coloring pages.
Professional artists will provide expertise and artwork demonstrations along the trail including watercolor demonstrations, a rock painting activity and creative writing and poetry. Local musicians will entertain, the high school robotics team will demonstrate, and face painters will be available for younger children.
Those completing artwork will be entered into a drawing for a free robot kit and after the day, a panel of judges will review completed artwork. Five, one from each location, will be selected to be permanently displayed along the trail, next to the scene it depicts, starting in the spring of 2024.
The kick-off event will run from noon-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, and include a cookout with free hot dogs, chips and drink. More information about the Sharon Tiger Techs and the event can be found HERE.
The funds for the event and project are supported by the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH.
